Friday Aug. 18 (6:30- 9:30 PM)

Screenings & adjudication of entries.
The Edward Milne Sooke Community Theatre was filled to capacity.


Saturday Aug. 19 (Noon- 2PM)
There was a free outdoor workshop: filming/videoing action sports. How to get the best shots safely, camera angles and lenses. At the Rotary SK8 Park. SK8 Jam 2000 hosted by Seaparc. Although the SK8 Jam was cancelled due to rain, videographers Randy Taylor, Gary Nicolls & others shot some footage of skaters.

Indoor workshop: "Trio & Triptych" media and the arts: Videoing flat art and 3D sculpture. Using the camera to give a feeling of motion from static objects. Hosted at Soiree Lane, Sooke

(8:30-midnight) Live music at Fox's Grill. 5449 Sooke Road
Multimedia workshop on using still photos and live video for promotion. How to get the shots without disturbing performers, (or getting thrown out by the bouncer!), protocol at live performances for the media. Demo for performers' promotion on internet: MP3 and Flash

Barry Casson of the Victoria Motion Picture School.
Workshop (Sunday time: 1:00- 3:00) Topics- How to light for a film look on video. Getting the most out of filters & lighting: using camera setting along with filtration at the lens. How to use a light meter for working in video to gain better exposure.

2. (2:00-3:00) FREE Workshop: Capturing performers with still photography & digital camera. Use of live performance photos for promotion via Power Point & Flash, etc. Workshop by amateur freelance photographer & digital animator Linda Gordon. Please pre-register by calling 642-6745
